Lieutenant General Dato’ Nur Hafis bin Abdul Karim RMAF is the Deputy Chief of Air Force. He was born in Bukit Mertajam, Penang in 1971. He entered the Royal Malaysian Air Force in 1993 after earning his Diploma in Public Administration from MARA University of Technology Malaysia. He is a graduate from the International Test and Pilots School Ltd (ITPS Canada) and a command pilot with more than 2,500 flying hours in the PC7, PC7 Mk II and Hawk 108 / 208 aircraft.
He has been assigned to numerous tactical, command and staff positions and has commanded at the flight, squadron and wing level. He served as Commanding Officer of No 6 Squadron, Kuantan Air Base in 2013. His last assignment was as Air Education and Training Commander.
Lt Gen Dato’ Nur Hafis bin Abdul Karim RMAF was recently conferred with the prestigious Darjah Setia Pangkuan Negeri (DSPN) by the Penang Governor which carries the title Dato'. The DSPN titles are awarded annually by the Penang Governor to 800 living individuals for their commendable commitments to the upliftment of the society and the country.
